The Elgin Group is Africa’s powerhouse of engineering solutions, which through its subsidiaries provides single-point responsibility for engineering, component supply, construction and commissioning. Combined, our companies offer a total and integrated engineering solution to serve various high profile sectors, including the mining and mineral, petrochemical, sugar and marine sectors as well as general industry.

The Elgin Group is registered as African Privity Investments, with headquarters in Durban, South Africa. We are steadily diversifying and building a profile as one of the largest Black owned and operated engineering entities in South Africa, with plans underway to extend our Pan-African footprint.

In 2004 Jeany Industrial Holdings, an investment holding company, together with a Management
Consortium, acquired Elgin Engineering from Murray & Roberts.

Since our first acquisition of this 60 year old company in 2004, the Group has enjoyed impressive
organic growth, buoyed by an aggressive build-and-buy strategy that has seen us acquire ownership and management of several specialised engineering concerns in South Africa.

Our additional acquisitions to date have included Spare Parts Manufacturing in 2007, PETREL and Hytrel in 2008 and Trotech Engineering in the same year. These have enhanced capacity, operational scale and provided access to projects across the continent.
